|MILO - Lewis Paul Valente, age 89, died of natural causes on November 9, 2016 in Milo, Maine at his residence.|
Lewis is survived by his daughters, Linda Sickler and husband Danny, and Laurie Valente; his grandchildren, Arielle Dillon and husband Patrick of MA and Thomas Lewis Clarke and his close friend Karissa Harris. He is also survived by a sister Georgia and two brothers Dud and Virgil. He was predeceased by his wife of 50 years Nellie Jose Valente, sisters Angela and Mary and a brother Henry.
Lewis was born on June 22, 1927 in Milo, Maine, to parents Paul Valente and Alta Clement. He graduated from Milo High School. He worked with his father in the trucking business and later become the Governor of Gould Street. He made significant contributions to the town of Milo by being a police officer, Chairman of the board of trustees on the Milo Hospital and being a selectman.
Lewis was a loving father and grandfather and had a wonderful sense of humor. He enjoyed playing cards and putting puzzles together at his camp on Schoodic Lake. He enjoyed traveling with family all over the United States. One of his favorite times of year was spending time with his family in Gouldsboro and putting on a spectacular fireworks display. He prided himself on keeping his word and following through and helping others no matter the cost.
