ETNA - Lawrence W. Bennett Jr., 57, died unexpectedly Dec. 6, 2012. He was born Feb. 19, 1955, in Atkinson, the son of Lawrence W. Bennett Sr. and Virginia (Sprague) Frith.

Larry founded the band Desperado in 1983 and worked for 28 years with the youth of the Job Corps program. He was a very loving and caring man, who gave much to many. He especially loved his family and camping at Waltons. If you knew him, you were loved by him.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Janet (Boulier) Bennett; two daughters, Tonya Gray and her husband, Todd, and Tina Grant and her husband, Kevin; the loves of his life, his four grandchildren, Tori, Garrett, Kala and Kyle; a brother, Glenn Bennett; a sister, Holly Fiddie; three brothers-in-law; three very special friends, his Desperado brothers; several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. He was predeceased by a brother, Earl Brown; and a sister, Linda Peterson.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, with Pastor Vasha Piermont officiating.
