|MILO AND BROWNVILLE JCT. - Marjorie Alice (Shorey) Damon, 72, loving wife of the late Fred Damon, passed away Nov. 21, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 27, 1940, in Bucksport, to Lewis and Marjorie (McCleod) Shorey.|
Marjorie was a very dedicated homemaker and lovingly raised her four children. Margie was a member of United Methodist Church, Brownville Junction, as well as a member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 92 for 14 years. One of Margie's favorite pastimes was trying her luck with bingo and scratch tickets. She was very lucky! She loved gardening and anything that had to do with the outdoors. She loved her family with everything she had and devoted countless hours being surrounded by them all.
She was predeceased by a son, James Sickles. Margie will be missed dearly by her sons, Larry Sickles and wife, Wanda, of Gaston, S.C., and David Sickles and wife, Anita, of Sebec; daughters, Julia Michaud of Lewiston and Donna Nason and husband, Brian, of Milo; her sisters, Joanne Ames and husband, Buddy, Jeannie Emery and companion, Darryl, and Debbie Parker and husband, Brad; several nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren, Jeffrey, David, Jessica, Morgan, Jana, Nicole, Kevin and Dustin; two step-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jacob, who all thought the world of her and will greatly miss their "Nana"; and 16 great-grandchildren, who put a smile on her face daily. She will be missed by her very special friend, Leroy Morse, who has given her great joy during the past three years; and her beloved bird, Billy Pretty Boy. All of us who were a part of her life will miss her greatly. Margie's family extends a special thank you to the entire staff of Eastern Maine Medical Center, who took such gentle, loving care of Margie and made her days there very easy. Our appreciation cannot be measured.
A graveside funeral service for Marjorie will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Pinetree Cemetery, Brownville Junction, with Pastor Isaiah Hill officiating. After the ceremony there will be a gathering for family and friends at the American Legion Hall in Brownville Junction. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Marjorie's name to American Cancer Society , One Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086-1240.
