Doris H. Chase

BROWNVILLE JCT. - BROWNVILLE JUNCTION - Doris H. Chase, 95, wife of the late Walter M. Chase, died Oct. 25, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born March 11, 1917, in Lowelltown, the daughter of Henry and Bernice (Orr) Hughey.

Doris had worked for L.L. Bean for many years.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Christine Hughey; a daughter-in-law, Judy Chase Thompson; a son-in-law, Paul Shomers; six grandchildren, Abe Chase and his wife, Kim Reid, Troy Chase and his wife, Keri, Scott Chase and his wife, Ria, Wes Chase and his wife, Megan, Jill Cobb and her partner, Susan Bray, and Doni Cobb; 11 great-grandchildren, Kyle and Brian Cobb, Lydia Chase, Claire and Sophia Chase, Lance and Brennan Chase, and Teaghan, Sage, Foxx and Quinn Chase; several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered by a close family friend, Clark Thompson. She was predeceased by two sons, David Chase and Gary Chase; a daughter, Judith Chase Shomers; five brothers, Harry, Howard, Tommy, Raymond and Earl Hughey; and two sisters, Pearl Wilson and Mary McMaham.

A private graveside service will be conducted in the family lot at Pinetree Cemetery, Brownville Junction, with Pastor Stephen Dean officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the American Legion Hall, Brownville Junction. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home, Milo.
