Florence Irene Jordan

EAST EDDINGTON - Florence Irene (Decker) Jordan, 90, went to be with her brothers and sisters, Feb. 4, 2012, at a Bangor hospital. She was born June 2, 1921, in Lagrange, the daughter of Raymond and Lila May (Lancaster) Decker. Florence was very active in the East Eddington Community Church throughout her life. She enjoyed volunteering for many of the church suppers and was active in the Ladies Aid. Florence enjoyed knitting and made many people nice warm mittens. She was an excellent cook. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and they were a very important part of her life. Florence had an interesting sense of humor, a keen wit, and was a friend to everyone. She is survived by two daughters, Colleen Hunt and husband, John, of Bridgdon, Irene Jordan and husband, Steven, of Bangor; three grandchildren, Heather Ellsmore and her husband, Roger, of Bridgdon, Michael Hunt and wife, Eilene, of Ceritos, Calif., Kevin Mansfield and companion, Robin Cacace, of Old Town; four dear great-grandchildren, Colin, Ian, Christopher and Andrea; and numerous nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her husband, Calvin E. Jordan; a daughter, Rita M. Jordan; a granddaughter, Tanya Hunt; a grandson, Shawn Mansfield; a great-granddaughter, Mandy Hunt; and nine brothers and sisters. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a service of remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Interment will be in the spring at Pine Tree Cemetery, Eddington.
