BROWNVILLE JCT. - Roland H. Stubbs Jr., 76, died peacefully Dec. 5, 2011, at home with his family and friends at his side. He was born Nov. 7, 1935, in Brownville, son of Roland H. Stubbs Sr. and Flora (Ladd) Stubbs. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a nuclear weapons specialist and retired from Canadian Pacific Railroad as a locomotive engineer. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Peggy; sons, David Stubbs and wife, Laurie, Dale Stubbs, Daniel Stubbs and wife, Pamela, and Michael Nelson and wife, Meredith; daughters, Kelly Woodard and husband, Arthur, and Kelly Nelson; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; sisters, Lettie Gibb, Violet Artus and husband, Wayne, and Bonita Butterfield and husband, Raymond; special cousin, Sonny Connors and wife, Pat; and close friends, Larry, Val, Donnie, Karen, Jimmy and Charlie. He was predeceased by his daughter, Karen; and sisters, Juanita and Martha. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
