Beverly A. Hamlin

DOVER-FOXCROFT - Beverly A. Hamlin, 74, died Sept. 19, 2011, at a local nursing home. She was born April 10, 1937, in Ware, Mass., the daughter of John and Verona (Brydon) Armstrong. Beverly grew up in Woodstock, Conn. She graduated from Massachusetts General School of Nursing and two days later began a long and dedicated career in nursing at Milo Community Hospital. She later worked at Mayo Regional Hospital and retired from Hibbard Nursing Home, both in Dover-Foxcroft. Her two greatest joys were working in her gardens and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Beverly is survived by a son, Mark and his wife, Natalie, and their two children, Claire and Matthew, all of Dover-Foxcroft; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Fred Hunter Sr. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; and a sister, Janet. A graveside memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo, with the Rev. Dodie Sheffield officiating.
