William J. Desmond

MILO - William J. Desmond, 62, died July 13, 2011, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born March 28, 1949, in Milo, son of James F. and Ruth (Martin) Desmond. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of J.P. Chaisson American Legion Post No. 41, Milo. Bill's passion was working in the woods, which he had done for many years. He was an extremely hard worker and very proud of his strong work ethic. He is survived by a son, Patrick and his wife, Theresa, of Milo; his mother, Ruth of Ellsworth; a brother, Leon and his wife, Anne, of Ellsworth; a sister, Louise Thompson and her husband, Gary, of Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Karen and Rachel of Milo; many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, July 18, at Sts. Francis Xavier and Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Milo, with Father Kent Ouellette, celebrant. Burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery.
