MILO - Doreen E. Rendzia, 57, died May 2, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 30, 1953, in Lac Megantic, Quebec, the daughter of Roland J. and Theresa (Edwards) York. A 1971 graduate of Penquis Valley High School, she was a therapeutic foster parent for 25 years. She loved providing foster care for children, as she was extremely dedicated to giving them a safe home and a better future. She was an avid gardener and a passionate, loving grandmother. Doreen will be terribly missed by her family, who will keep her forever in their hearts. She is survived by her mother, Theresa York; a daughter, Kylie and her husband, Adam Coover, and their children, Aaliyah and Madison; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Rendzia and her children, Brady and Bailey; a sister, Darlene and her husband, Randy Villani, and their children, Mathew and his wife, Andrea Villani, Kevin and his wife, Violeta Villani, and Megan and her husband, Chris Blais; and a special sister-in-law, Ruby and her husband, Paul Grindle. Doreen was predeceased by her father; and a son, Michael J. Rendzia. She will be remembered by many friends and extended family members, including Milton Smith, with whom she shared a special friendship. A graveside memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, in the family lot at Brownville Village Cemetery with Pastor James Colley officiating.
