Harold "Spike" H. Burton Jr., 73, went home to be with his Lord, March 31, 2010, at an Orono nursing home. He was born March 12, 1937, in Oakfield, the son of Harold Henry and Vera Mae (Rockwell) Burton. A lifelong resident of Derby and Milo, Harold served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired as foreman of the highway department in Milo. Harold loved his home and working around his trucks and other favorite projects. Harold is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen and her son, Danny; his loving daughter, Darlynda Colby and her husband, Mike, of Concord, N.H.; two sons, David Burton of California and Donald Burton of Sanbornton, N.H.; four sisters, Madeline London and her husband, Nelson, and Eloise Hathorn and her husband, Robert, all of Milo, Eleanor Perry and her husband, John, of Lenox, Mass., Jeanette Towne and her husband, Peter, of Bangor; a brother, Raymond Burton and his wife, Georgia, of Medford; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by special friends, Curtis Chase and Galen and Connie Carey of Milo. Friends are invited to call 3 p.m. until time of funeral service 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 2, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with Pastor Don Booker officiating.
