Ansel V. Gould

ROCKVILLE, MD. & MILO - Ansel V. Gould, 79, passed away March 11, 2010, in Washington, D.C. He was born Sept. 21, 1930, in Plainfield, N.J., son of the late Eben and Margaret (Purple) Gould. He was the husband of Mary "Betty" (Decker) Gould of Milo. He grew up in Maplewood, N.J., but spent several summers at his grandfather's farm in Gorham. He graduated from Princeton University in 1952, with a degree in aeronautical engineering, and received a master's degree from Princeton in 1956. He was commissioned in the U.S. Navy, July 1952, serving three years aboard the USS Des Moines and USS Mississippi. He retired from the Naval Reserve as a lieutenant commander in 1977. He worked for Convair, San Diego, and Boston before moving to Maryland and changing careers to software engineering. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Pederson and husband, Pete; a son, Robert Gould and wife, Ellen; and a brother, Dr. William Gould. He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Peter, Kenneth, Matthew and Jennifer Pederson.
