MILO - Richard H. Jay, 67, husband of Eileen M. (Reilly) Jay, died Sept. 27, 2009, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born May 1, 1942, in Houlton, the son of Harold G. and Phyllis M. (Foster) Jay. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a member of J.P. Chaisson American Legion Post No. 41. He worked for many years as a mechanic on heavy equipment. He was also a partner in Three Rivers Wing Shooting and raised quails, known as Dick's Quail, for the shooting. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending his apple trees. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Eileen of Milo; a son, Richard H. Jr. of Milo; a daughter, Denise Jay of Devon, Pa.; three brothers, Terry, Eugene and Kevin, all of Milo; a sister, Dianne Perkins of Milo; and a sister-in-law, Diane Jay of Milo. He will be remembered by special friends, Alden and Patty Estes of Milo. A memorial service with military honors will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at J.P. Chaisson American Legion Hall, Milo, where friends and family are invited to share fellowship and memories after the service until 2 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home.
