Anthony M. Kindamo

BROWNVILLE - Anthony M. Kindamo, 89, husband of Marilyn (Chase) Kindamo, died June 24, 2009, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. He was born June 13, 1920, in Pittsfield, Mass., the son of Joseph M. and Mary (Catrambone) Kindamo. Throughout the years, he had worked in many fields. He began as a first class machinist in the Navy shipyard working on submarines, and later went on to become a member of the Boston Fire Department. He was a firefighter, scuba diver and a member of their exhibition drill team. After his retirement from Boston Fire Department he began a career in construction, including both residential and commercial construction. He taught carpentry classes at Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute and woodworking classes for SAD 41 Adult Education. More recently he had served as the code enforcement officer for Brownville and Milo. He was a member of Brownville Community Church. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marilyn of Brownville; three sons, Anthony of Massachusetts, Paul of Minnesota and Greg of Massachusetts; two daughters, Cathy Davis of Arizona and Marianne McLennan of Massachusetts; three stepdaughters, Stephanie Salley of Milo, Gina Hamlin of Lakeview and Julie Mashoke of Venice, Fla.; a sister, Theresa Kindamo of Massachusetts; three sons-in-law, James Mashoke, Matthew Hamlin and Jerry Salley; 10 grandchildren, Jason, Kevin, Michael, Jennifer, Lauren, Graham, Sonja, Brian, Katrina and Nicholas; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph. There will be no services at this time. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Brownville Community Church, P.O. Box 706, Brownville, ME 04414.
