MILO - MILO - Madeline A. Jay, 64, wife of the late Glenwood L. Jay, died May 25, 2009, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born Sept. 9, 1944, in North Uxbridge, Mass., the daughter of Manley and Luella (Brothers) Avery.
Madeline was a member of Joseph P. Chaisson American Legion Post No. 41 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, Glenwood Carl Jay and his wife, Janet, and their children, Zachary, Benjamin and Shelby, and Zachary's daughter, Kaeliegh, all of Milo; a daughter, Valerie Mullens and her children, Justin and Kendra, all of Milo; four brothers, Robert Avery and his wife, Marlene, of Old Town, Fred Avery and his wife, Marilyn, of Summerville, S.C., Alfred Avery and his wife, Roberta, of Hamilton, N.Y., and Richard Avery of Brewer; and three sisters, Arlene Kennedy and her husband, John, of Argyle, Barbara Avery of Old Town, and Linda LeBlanc and her husband, Louis, of Old Town.
She will be remembered by her best friend, Gerald Perkins of Milo.
Friends are invited to call 10 a.m. until time of funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with the Rev. Michele St. Cyr officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery.
