MILO - George E. Badger Jr., 54, loving husband of Sally A. (Shorey) Badger, died Feb. 22, 2009, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born Jan. 17, 1955, in Atkinson, the son of George E. and Carolyn Badger. George had worked at Dexter Shoe Co., for more than 20 years, then at William London Construction and most recently at Pleasant River Lumber Co., Dover-Foxcroft. George was involved in many things throughout his happy life; he was actively interested in auto mechanics and enjoyed being a member of Devil Sledders Snowmobile Club, where he was the trail master for many years. George enjoyed people, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends whenever he had a chance. He was well liked in what he called "his town" in Milo. He enjoyed taking his grandkids fishing in his little secret spots where they had a chance to catch a trout, just as his dad had done for him. He was very close to and appreciative of his parents. George always tried to help people out no matter what the situation was, even if it consisted of going out in the middle of the night. He had several friends both in and out of town who meant a lot to him and he would always try to see them as often as he could. He truly enjoyed fishing, hunting - even though he seldom got out of the truck, camping, four-wheeling and snowmobiling with his large group of friends. These were the times he loved the most. He was a loving husband to his wife, Sally of Milo; a proud father of his daughter, Candy Clukey; and a very proud puppa of Alec and Austin; and his stepgrandson, Dustin. He also leaves a very loving family, including a brother, Everett Badger and his wife, Michele; his sister, Ella Lyford and her husband, Gary; many nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to share in a celebration George's life 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the American Legion Hall, Milo. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at www.laryfuneralhome.com.
