BROWNVILLE JCT. - Lillian M. Slagle, 85, wife of the late Harold V. Slagle, died Jan. 24, 2009, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born May 31, 1923, in Ossining, N.Y., the daughter of Alphonse and Theresa (Inacco) Trapanese. Lillian enjoyed music of all kinds and belonged to several music groups while she lived in New York. After moving to Brownville Junction, she was a member of St. Francis and St. Paul Catholic Church, where she served in the choir; a member of Katahdin Senior Citizens; and she volunteered both at Meals for ME and Ecumenical Thrift Shop. She is survived by two sons, Richard Slagle and his wife, Barbara, of Cortland, N.Y., and Vincent Slagle and his wife, Stacey, of Brownville Junction; two daughters, Jacqueline Wood and her husband, Charles, of Ebeemee Township and Lynn Marie Manfrida and her husband, Robert, of Katonah, N.Y.; and 12 grandchildren. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at St. Francis and St. Paul Catholic Church, Milo, with Father Mark Nolette, celebrant.
