JoAnn Smart

MILO - JoAnn Smart, 53, wife of Monte J. Smart, died April 28, 2008, at Bangor hospital, after a courageous year-long battle with lymphoma cancer. She was born February 14, 1955, in Lincoln, the daughter of Joel and Laurette (King) Pelletier. JoAnn had worked at Dexter Shoe for many years, and then received her CNA certificate. She found great enjoyment and satisfaction in her work as a home health care nurse.

JoAnn was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, nana, sister, aunt and friend. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Barbara Pelletier, and a brother Michael Pelletier. She leaves her husband, Monte J. Smart of Milo; 3 daughters, Melissa Harmon and her husband Fred, and their children, Katrina, Kaleb, and Kelsey of Corinth; Rebecca Lenfestey and her husband Mike, and their children, Mike, Bradley and Seth of Frenchboro, Laurette Lunt and her husband Zach and their children, Cody, Dylan, Austin, and Breanna of Frenchboro; 4 sisters, Jeanette Morrill and husband Timothy and their family, Marie Harmon and husband William Sr., and their family, Linda Willette and husband Mark and their family; and Susan Pelletier; 3 brothers, Joel Pelletier and wife Lisa and their family, Michael Pelletier and wife Brenda, Richard "Dickie" Pelletier and his family; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be fondly remembered by many special friends.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am, Friday, May 2, 2008, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with Rev. Lorna Grace Stuart officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery. Following the burial all are invited to share fellowship and stories with the family at the Brownville Jct. Alumni Hall.
