|MILO AND MILLINOCKET - Robert F. Jardine Sr., 89, husband of the late Edith C. (Morrell) Jardine, died Feb. 10, 2008, at his daughter's home in Millinocket. He was born April 22, 1918, in Greenville, the son of Daniel C. and Pearl (Lanpher) Jardine. Bert served his country with bravery and courage during World War II with the U.S. Army. He was awarded the Purple Heart as he was wound-ed in the Battle of the Bulge. He had worked for many years for Great Northern Paper and also enjoyed his work as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of Columbia-Doric Lodge No. 149 AF & AM, Joseph P. Chaisson American Legion Post No. 41 and Green-ville Methodist Church. Bert enjoyed telling a good joke and hearing people laugh. He was an accomplished carpenter and loved working with his hands. Bert made so many gifts for family members and these beautiful pieces of work will be cherished forever. Bert was an avid outdoorsman, as he loved fishing, boating, snow sledding and hunting. He built a camp on South Twin Lake, Millinocket, to pursue these activities and by this he created many years of treasured memories, as well as those to come for future generations. Bert spent time with his family and he instilled values into his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with his gentle spirit and upstanding morals. Bert was a good, hard-working man, who through his actions was a tremendous role model for his family. He is survived by his children; a daughter, E. Claire Daigle and her husband, Terry, of Millinocket; a son, Robert Jr. and his wife, Vicki, of Orrington; grandchildren, Terrence Michael Jr. and his wife, Patti Daigle, and their children, Michael III, Seth, Hannah, Chris and Nikki, Matthew and his wife, Kim Daigle, and their child, Kristin, Jason and his wife, Janet Daigle, and their children, Joshua and Jordan, Stacy and her husband, Matthew LaBree, and their children, Cameron and Alexis, Heather and her husband, Marc Corey, Robbie and his wife, Carrie Jardine, Michelle and her husband, Dale Hayes, and their children, Miranda and Dale Ryan and George Simon; a sister, Thelma MacDonald; several nieces and nephews; two special family members, Theresa Germain and Debbie Daigle; and special friends, Mary and Gerry McLean, Dot and Jim Gustafson, and Ken McKinnon. He was predeceased by a son, Wayne C.; sisters, Charlotte Kirstead, Ruth Hamel, Hilda Whitney; and a brother, Paul Jardine. Friends are invited to call 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, until time of funeral service 1 p.m. at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with the Rev. Darren Morgan officiating. Graveside committal services for Robert F. Jardine Sr., who died Feb. 10, 2008, will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, in the family lot at Greenville Cemetery, Greenville, with the Rev.
