Maurice L. Joslyn

BROWNVILLE - Maurice L. Joslyn, 86, husband of the late Etta (Seavey) Joslyn, died Jan. 19, 2008, at his residence. He was born Sept. 7, 1921, in Orient, the son of Boardman L. and Ida (Dwyer) Joslyn. A World War II U.S. Army veteran, he had worked for the town of Brownville in the Highway Department for many years. He was a member of Pleasant River Masonic Lodge No. 163 AF & AM, Anah Temple Shrine, Bernard Jones American Legion Post No. 92 and Brownville Junction United Methodist Church. Maurice is survived by a brother, Neil Josyln and his wife, Virginia, of Lincoln; a sister, Pauline Bradeen of Bangor; a special sister-in-law, Phyllis Strout of Brownville; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Etta; three brothers, Carl, Floyd and Robert; two sisters, Faye Briggs and Etta Grant; and his beloved dog, Casey. Friends are invited to call 2-4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with Masonic services said 3:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the funeral home with Pastor Garnett Chute officiating. Spring burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery.
