Avis M. Stanchfield

MILO - Family and friends of Avis M. Stanchfield mourn her unexpected death Nov. 10, 2007, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born May 9, 1926, in Milo, the daughter of Chellis and Leona Mitchell. She had lived in Milo all of her 81 years. As a Christian, she lived her faith in everything she did and was very active at Park Street United Methodist Church as organist, choir member, United Methodist Women member and church historian. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger E. Stanchfield; his daughter, Lois Jane; and a grandson, Paul. Surviving are sisters, Merna and her husband, Herbert Dunham and Gloria and her husband, George Hoskins; children, Betty Stanchfield, Paulette and her husband, David Broadbent, Donald Stanchfield and his wife, Susan, Tina Whitney, Kenneth Robertson and his wife, Patti, and Marge Lavoie and her husband, Ron; grandchildren, Mark and his wife, Debbi, Lori and her husband, Shawn, Jenny and her husband, Larry, Adam and his fiance, Rachel, David, April and her husband, Matt, Ryan, Carrie, Toni, Jake, Keith, Jillian, Kim, Kelly and Kiley; and 11 great-grand-children. She will be missed by her loving companion, Tommy Howard; and his children, Stephanie, Vicki, Valerie and Tom Jr.; many nieces, nephews and friends. While Milo loses a lovely lady, all of heaven is rejoicing as she is welcomed home. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Park Street United Methodist Church, Milo, with the Rev. Michele St. Cyr and Pastor David Broadbent officiating.
