Hazel Zelphia S. Heath

BROWNVILLE - Hazel Zelphia S. Heath, 88, wife of the late Raymond H. Heath Sr., died June 28, 2007, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born June 24, 1919, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Bruce W. and Grace F. (True) Sprague. During World War II, she had worked as a welder in a shipyard; she later spent many years as a traveling social worker. She also worked at Viner Shoe Co. and at the Dover-Foxcroft Police Department. Hazel was devoted to her entire family. She loved to travel and enjoyed many arts and crafts. She was a member of the Brownville Community Church. She is survived by two sons, Raymond Jr. and his wife, Ruth, and Guy and his wife, Regina, all of Brownville; three daughters, Sandra Darrah and her husband, George, of Glendive, Mont., Mary Knox and her husband, Robert, of Brownville, and Grace Leeman and her husband, Frank, of Williamsburg; a brother, Merle Kelley and his wife, Dorothy, of North Windham; 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grand-children, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be remembered by a special friend, Betty McKusick. She was predeceased by two brothers, Otis Kelley and Guy Sprague. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Brownville Community Church with Pastor Darren Morgan officiating. Friends are invited to call 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the family lot at Brownville Village Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home.
