MILFORD AND LAGRANGE - Candy L. White, 43, wife of Troy P. White, died peacefully in the comfort of her home Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, with her husband and mother-in-law by her side after a courageous and inspirational battle with cancer. Candy was born Nov. 2, 1962, in Bangor. She resided in Milford and LaGrange. She graduated from Old Town High School and worked at Cyr Bus for 15 years. Candy also worked alongside her husband in his taxidermy business until the cancer prevented her from doing so. She was proud to be the first woman member of the Old Town Elks Lodge No. 1287 and enjoyed her time there socializing with her friends. She displayed her artistic abilities by making wood-burned walking sticks and other knickknacks that she gave to friends and family. Candy enjoyed sports, long walks, four-wheeling, photography, playing pool, being at home with her dogs, Tee-Tee and Ranger, music, dancing, beautiful sunsets and spending quality time with friends. Candy very much enjoyed bear season, greeting hunters and sharing stories and laughs around the campfire. She always had a way of making all the hunters feel at home. Candy's unselfishness and relentless will to live and endure all she went through; she did for others that surrounded, so we could have such a wonderful person for an additional three and a half years. Candy was loved by all. She always greeted everyone with a smile and always had a way of making everyone feel welcomed no matter who it was. Candy wants to thank her two "guardian angels" Nonie Tidwell and Angie White; her childhood and best friend, Kathy Farrar; also her close friends that touched her heart - there's too many to list, but she knows you know who you are - for all your love and support. We would also like to thank the medical professionals at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston area hospital, CancerCare of Maine and Eastern Maine Medical Center for their dedication, sincerity and ongoing efforts during Candy's three and a half year battle with cancer. Candy was predeceased by her father, Edward T. Emerson. She is survived by her husband, Troy P. White; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Nonie Tidwell; sister-in-law, Angie White and significant other, Rick Clukey; brother-in-law, Shaun Tidwell; mother, Donna R. Emerson; brother, Edward Emerson and wife, Cheryl; sister, Cathy King and husband, David; brother, David Emerson and wife, Robin; brother, Danny Emerson and wife, Kathy; sister, Cindy Dorr and brother-in-law, Paris Dorr; nephews, Daniel Jr., Corey, Kevin, David King Jr.; nieces, Melissa, Katie and Bobby Jo. As per Candy's wishes, there will be no funeral services.
