(Armstrong) McMannus, died July 24, 2006, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born July 4, 1915, in Masardis, the son of Hugh I. and Lena (Hann) McMannus. Hank worked for 45 years for the B&A Railroad, 15 years as trackman and foreman, then 30 years as roadmaster, retiring in 1980. He was a 54-year member of Piscataquis Lodge No. 44 AF & AM, serving as master in 1964, a member of Rabboni Chapter No. 62 and Anah Temple Shrine. He enjoyed spending time hunting in the Maine woods. Hank always looked forward to the annual spring fishing trip on the Aroostook River with family and friends. He especially enjoyed his camp at Schoodic Lake and boating. He was an avid gardener. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Fern of Milo; a son, Glen and wife, Brenda McMannus, of Milo; a daughter, Amber Lea and husband, Darryl Thomas, of Unity; three grandchildren, Michael Ellis, Becky McMannus and Lee McMannus; and three great- grandchildren, April, Josh and Rachel. He was predeceased by a daughter, Molly P.; and a brother, Robert. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at the Lary Funeral Home, Milo, with Masonic services said at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, July 27, at the Lary Funeral Home, with Pastor David Mumford officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Piscataquis Lodge No 44, care of George MacDougall, 1 Davis Rd., Fairfield, ME 04937.
