Simone R. Delano

PERHAM - Simone R. Delano, 89, died Thursday Feb. 2, 2006, at Cary Medical Center in Caribou. She was born Jan. 5, 1917, in Haverhill, Mass., the daughter of Joseph A. and Mary (Bruneault) LaFond. Mrs. Delano was a graduate of St. Joseph's Parochial Grammar School and Haverhill High School. During the course of her single life, she became a known recitalist, both as a pianist and vocalist. Piano teaching was also a part of her musical career. In her mid-life, she was an organ pupil of the late Irving Bartley, professor emeritus, at the University of New Hampshire and for two years held the organist position at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dover, N.H. She is survived by her husband, Carl Delano of Perham; five sons, John A. LaFramboise of Meriden, Conn., Stuart A. LaFramboise of Wells, Douglas V. LaFramboise of Satellite Beach, Fla., Philip A. LaFramboise of Newport Beach, Calif., and Verne J. LaFramboise; a daughter, Lisa Marie LaFramboise of Presque Isle; a stepson, Carl H. Delano Jr. of Sanford; three stepdaughters, Sharon Saiauski of Kittery, Deborah Standish of Brownville, Dawn Stuart of South Berwick; four grandsons, seven granddaughters, five stepgrandsons and nine stepgranddaughters. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Washburn, with the Very Rev. Jean- Paul LaBrie, officiating. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Spring interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, Perham.
