Lloyd Henry Graves

BROWNVILLE JCT. - Lloyd Henry "Whitey" Graves, 88, passed away Jan. 21, 2006, at Hibbard Nursing Home in Dover-Foxcroft. He was born May 8, 1917, in Brownville Junction, son of Frederick and Elizabeth Graves. Lloyd was one of the few remaining steam locomotive engineers from the Canadian Pacific Railroad and was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting and fishing. He was also an avid baseball fan, having been a member of the team winning the high school county championship. His long commitment as a loyal fan of the Red Sox was finally rewarded with a World Series championship before his passing, much to his delight. He is predeceased by his wife, V. Eileen Graves; five sisters and three brothers. Survivors include his sister, Olive Gallagher of Manchester, N.H.; two sons and daughters-in- law, A. Edwin and Margaret Graves of Nashua, N.H. and Richard L. and Barbara Graves of Milo; six grandchildren, Peter, Patricia, Kathryn and John of New Hampshire and Richard Jr. and Crystal of Bangor; and seven great-grandchildren. A private spring burial will be held at Pine Tree Cemetery in Brownville Junction.
