Lawrence W. Duffy

EAST MILLINOCKET - Lawrence W. Duffy, 87, passed away Wed-nesday, Dec. 01, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March 6, 1917, in Milo, the son of James and Jenny (Surrette) Duffy. He was an exceptional house painter and an avid Red Sox fan. He enjoyed fishing trips with his sons into Fowler Pond. "Duffy" worked in the finishing department at Great Northern Paper Company for many years, retiring in 1980. He was very proud of his service to his country in World War II (POW) where he served in Germany. He is survived by his son and his daughter-in-law, Richard and Claudia Violette of East Millinocket; two daughters, Norma Duffy of East Millinocket, and Gail Duffy of Millinocket; one brother, Gerald and his wife, Jean Duffy, of Falmouth; one daughter-in-law, Donna Duffy of East Millinocket; one brother-in-law, Roger Pelletier and his wife, Cathy, of Millinocket; four grandchildren, Jason, Brent, Dreama, Scott; five great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a very special cat, Sophie. He was predeceased by his wife, Alma Pelletier Duffy; his son, Duane; two brothers, James Jr., and Arthur; two sisters, Margarite and Irene. Friends may call at R.L. Bouchard Funeral Home, 17 Western Ave., East Millinocket 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, where St. Anne's Circle Daughters of Isabella will recite the Rosary at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 at the funeral home in East Millinocket.
