John J. Perkins

SEBEC - John J. Perkins Sr., 87, husband of the late Alice (Bartlett) Perkins, died Sept. 25, 2001, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. He was born in Milo, June 25, 1914, one of 14 children of Howard and Sadie Mae (Wyman) Perkins. John was an avid outdoorsman who loved the land. His favorite pastime was cutting firewood. He is survived by a son, Joseph of Millinocket; four daughters, Martha Gulliver of Farmington, Joan Richards of Concord, N.H., Sally Davis of Sebec, Nancy Spencer of Sangerville; a brother, Jean Perkins of Georgia; a sister, Zana Johnson of Connecticut; 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Alice, in May of this year; and by a son, John Jr. John's family is most appreciative of the care he received by Dr. Robert Bach and the staff at Mayo Regional Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at the family lot in Sebec Corner Cemetery with the Rev. David McLeish officiating.
