TOP OF THE HILL AUTO DETAILING -- Scott Artus, of Medford, opened his own business last week which offers extensive car detailing at an affordable rate. Artus, who specializes in muscle cars, has worked with cars since he was a teenager.

MEDFORD What could be better than getting paid to do something you love?

According to Scott Artus, he decided to open Top of the Hill Auto Detailing because he has enjoyed working with cars since he was in high school.

"I've worked on them just about imy whole life," he said, "and there wasn't anything around like this (business), plus I've got a huge garage. It might just as well be made use of."

Just last week, Artus officially started his own business, offering customers "complete auto detail ing at reasonable rates" with
equipment like a steam cleaner, pressure washer, vacuum steam extractor and more.

"I've got some nice equipment," he said, "and I do everything except painting."

Artus said he worked with his family at Pat's Pizza in Milo for several years, but decided he preferred the flexibility of owning his own business. Coupled with his love of cars. Top of the Hill Auto Detailing seemed like the logical choice.

Although he can do complete restoration, Artus said he prefers to stick to detailing work with an eye for perfection and a specialty in muscle cars.

"I'm fussy and particular with cars," he said. "If it isn't done right, I don't want to do it."
