Dover community band begins 21st season of summer concerts

DOVER-FOXCROFT The Community Concert Band, under the direction of Greenville music director Ron Dobra, has announced the summer schedule for its 21st season.

Concerts begin on June 28 at the bandstand in Greenville at 7pm. The following day the Band makes its debut performance at the statewide, daylong R.B. Hall Day festival at the Farmington fairgrounds at 1pm immediately following the massed band.

Other dates include July 3 and 18 and August 8 at the county courthouse parking lot in Dover-Foxcroft, July 11 at the Corinna Library, July 25 at the Dexter Nursing Home, Aug. 1 at the Monson Bandstand, Aug. 15 in Milo, and at the county Fair in Dover-Foxcroft at 6:30pm on Aug. 22. Parades for this season include St. Albans on July 20, the Pittsfield Egg Festival on July 27, and Dover-Foxcroffs Homecoming on Aug. 3.

Director Dobra still has openings for clarinets, trumpets, trombones, baritones, french horns, saxophones and tubas. The Band will have its final rehearsal on June 21 at the Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church from 6:30 to 8pm. All local and summer visiting band musicians are invited to join us at any of our performances.
