BROWNVILLE A Pine Street resident reported two snomobiles stolen from his backyard last week.

Kevin O'Neil told police that his red 1989 Skidoo MX and blue 2002 Polaris Edge were parked in his back yard the evening of Feb. 4. He woke up the next morning and they were gone.

Brownville Police Chief Todd Lyford, who is investigating the incident, said that the incident is under investigation.

Lyford said that there were few clues left the morning of Feb. 6, as there had been a snowstorm and the roads had been plowed when he came to investigate. He said it is believed there is more than one suspect in the case.

Due to the estimated value of the snowmobiles, the crime is a class C. Lyford said the snowmobiles are worth $5,000. He said he did not know if O'Neil was insured against the loss.

Anybody with information regarding the snowmobiles is urged to call the police department at 965-2561.
