PVHS announces honor parts

MILO John Robinson,Principal of Penquis Valley High School in Milo,Maine,has announced the honor parts for the Class of 2003.

Jean Hamlin, daughter of Neil and Barbara Hamlin of Milo, will be this year's valedictorian. She has been active in Key Club, the State Science Fair, the school band, the school newspaper, the National Honor Society, varsity athletics (soccer, basketball and softball), and has served as treasurer and president of the student council. Jean will attend Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, next fall.

Melissa Madden has been selected as salutatorian. She is the daughter of Ernie and Yvonne Madden of Milo, Maine. Katie, as she is known, has been involved with the State Science Fair and the National Honor Society. She will attend school at Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts next year.

Amanda Crouch-Smith, daughter of Derek and Susan Smith will deliver the First Honor Essay at Commencement Exercises. In her four years at Penquis Valley, Amanda has been active in Key Club as President, cheering, class president in her sophomore, junior and senior years, varsity tennis and the National Honor Society. In the fall, she will be attending Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts.

Lucas Morris will present the Second Honor Essay at Graduation which is held on Sunday, June 15 at 2 p.m. Luke has been an active participant in the Bible Club, the State Science Fair, the school newspaper and The National Honor Society serving as its president. He will attend the University of Maine in the fall.
