Investigator Alien Emerson of the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office is looking into the break. He said the door was left open overnight, and found the following morning, July 15, by a member of the town office staff.

Emerson said nothing appeared missing not even some money that had been left on the countertop was taken.

Police are also investigating a number of thefts reported recently in Medford. Investigator Guy Dow with the sheriff's office said that numerous items were reported stolen this week apparantly due to thefts from early spring.
