Orneville men arrested on marijuana growing charge

Article from The Piscataquis Observer, Vol. 165, No. 31, July 30, 2003

ORNEVILLE Police arrested two Omeville men last week for cultivating marijuana after conducting search warrants at the two men's homes on the East County Road.

Nine marijuana plants were found growing around the property shared by Billy Marshall, 72, and Wendall Dunham, 37, according to Investigator Guy Dow with the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office.

Dow said he obtained a search warrant on the property, where both homes are located, after conducting surveillance on a marijuana patch of 32 plants that somebody had reported growing in Medford. In addition
to the plants, police found processed marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the two homes.

The men were arrested July 21 after the 3 p.m. search and transported to Piscataquis County Jail, where they made bail. They are scheduled to appear in Dover-Foxcroft District Court on Sept. 8. The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency assisted in the search.
