Annual Pleasant River Walk to be held Saturday

Article from The Piscataquis Observer, Vol. 165, No. 32, August 06, 2003

BROWNVILLE The third annual Pleasant River Walk is set to coincide with Alumni Weekend, and will take place Saturday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The river walk, which opened in September 2000, was created after community members decided to construct a trail along the east side of the Pleasant River from Brownville to Brownville Junction.

Seventeen landowners were contacted for permission to construct this trail across their property. Permission was granted with the condition that this trail was a walking trail only. The trail runs from behind the old Grange Hall in Brownville Village, next to the playground and continues along the Pleasant River to Davis Field in Brownville Junction, just over the green iron bridge.

Proper footwear is recommended. There will be a shuttle service for walkers. Vehicle parking is available at either Davis Field in Brownville Junction or the Community Church on Church Street in Brownville.
