Hunter safety courses offered across the Penquis region

The state Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife offers hunter safety courses every year, across the state. The course is required before gaining a hunting license.

Following is a list of area course offerings:

Greenville: Sept. 15-18, 6 to 9 p.m. at Greenville High School. Information or to register : contact Debbie Ward at 695-2125 or Joe Munster at 534-8853.

Lincoln: Aug. 23-24, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fire Department Day Room on Adam Street. Information or to

Carmel: Sept. 6-7, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the snowmobile club building. Information or to register: contact

Howland: Sept. 8 and 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sept. 13 from 8 a.m. to noon, at Penobscot Valley High
