SEBEC- Three people were injured Sunday evening on Route 16 when two vehicles collided head-on.A 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Charles Russell, 77, of Milo was struck head-on by a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Jacqueline Whitney, 38, of Milo. Russell, Whitney and Whitney's passenger, daughter Cheryl Roesing, 13, of Milo, received lacerations and bruises and were taken by ambulance to Mayo Regional Hospital. All three had their seat belts on at the time of the accident, according to Investigator Mike Gould of the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Department.

Russell and Roesing were treated and released, according to Tom Lizotte, Mayo's director of marketing and development. He said Monday that Whitney was admitted and was in stable condition.

The accident occurred as Russell was turning into a driveway at about 6:30 p.m., Gould said. He attributed the accident, which occurred in the rain, to driver inattention. Both vehicles were demolished. No charges were filed.
