Orneville home destroyed in fire

Article from The Piscataquis Observer, Vol. 165, No. 48, November 26, 2003

ORNEVILLE Flames consumed an Orneville home late Sunday night.

The home at 1448 Elm St. owned by Peter Perry of Omeville was reported on fire at 11:30 p.m., according to Liet. Matt Demers of the Milo Fire Department.

It is unknown how many people lived in the home, and where they are now staying. According to Demers, family members were in the home when the fire started, but were able to get out unharmed.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Demers said there will likely be no further investigation into the cause of the fire because the homeowner was uninsured.

Firefighters from Milo, Brownville and Lagrange were on the scene for three hours, but were not able to stop the fire's progression.
