Article from The Piscataquis Observer, Vol. 166, No. 6, February 11, 2004

On March 10, The Piscataquis Observer will celebrate Newspapers in Education Week with a special section dedicated to the local school districts,

Advertisements .will be designed by local students, and. editorial copy will feature work by and about the kids who go to school in SADs 4,41, 46 and 68, and Union 60, as well as home-schooled children.

Administrators, teachers and parents are asked to encourage students to submit news articles or editorial (opinion) letters to The Observer no later than Feb. 20 for publication in the March 10 issue.

Last year. The Observer won first place at the Maine Press Association annual awards banquet for last year's inaugural Newspapers in Education issue, and we would like to make it bigger and better this year.
We feel it is a wonderful opportunity for the area's students to receive recognition for their talents.

Anyone interested in taking part in Newspapers in Education can contact Ben Bragdon or Jessica Lee at 564-8355 or e-mail observer@nepublish.com.
