ATKINSON Fire crews from Dover-Foxcroft, Milo, Brownville, Sangerville, Guilford, Bowerbank, Charleston, and East Corinth responded to a blaze last night on the Range Road in Atkinson that destroyed a bam owned by Carl
Dow.

Dow had been working on a dump truck inside of the bam when the gas tank he was replacing threw a spark that ignited the floor of the structure. The bam was 32 feet long by 44 feet wide and 16 feet high.

"I'm sad to see it go," Dow said.

After calling 911, Dow grabbed another truck he had on his property and towed
the dump truck out from the strengthening fire.

"The fire was going pretty good when we hauled it out," Dow said.

"I'm glad no one got hurt," said community member Junior Peterson.

The fire was called in at around 6:30 p.m. and by 7:30 crews had the blaze under control.

"The fire was contained," said Dover-Foxcroft Fire Chief Joe Guyotte.
