Milo: Riverside Seafood now open

September 12, 2009 - TRC - By Izzy

Riverside Seafood is open daily 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. year round.
Since earlier this summer Andy Robinson has been selling fresh Maine seafood from the back of his refrigeration-equipped truck in downtown Milo. His location was at the Mars Machine parking lot. Can’t say Merry has taken the show off the road because she has headed out to purchase the fresh seafood she sells as early as two o’clock some mornings. In the past few weeks Andy and Merry Burton, have been busy rebuilding, cleaning, painting and installing equipment. The shop isn't finished yet but Riverside Seafood is now open at 23 West Main Street in Milo. The store will be open year round. A wide variety of fish and shellfish are available : Lobsters (whole and meat only), Rock Crabs, Clams (and delicious stuffed clams), Mussels, Scallops, Shrimp, Haddock, Swordfish, Salmon, Codfish and Tuna Steaks.

The new business will fill special orders. Placing an order as much in advance as you can will allow you the freshest products at the best price. To place an order or to contact Merry at the store call 207-745-5479. For nearby customers who are truly housebound orders can be delivered.

Generally the store is open every day between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. selling fresh seafood at great prices. Merry invites the public to stop by and check out one of Milo’s newest businesses.

The business sign is being carved and painted by Merry. When it is finished and placed it will name the business and recognize that Merry is one among the many in Milo who is “Living the Dream” of having started her own business.
