Free Movie Tickets for the unemployed and under employed from Center Theatre

May 19, 2009 - TRC

The Center Theatre, in cooperation with Penquis, is offering free movie tickets to members of the community who have lost their jobs. The Theatre, which recently began offering movie passes for sale to the general public, also wanted to make them available to those who might not be able to afford to see a movie. “We especially want children and families to benefit from this program,” said Alan Bray a Theatre Board member who has been instrumental in getting the program off the ground. “Many of our movies are oriented towards families and we know that with times being so difficult being able to go see a movie could help, at least help for a couple hours.”

The passes will be good for 5 movie admissions at the Center Theatre and participants may request additional passes after the five are used. The program will begin in early May and continue through the summer.

Penquis will distribute the passes as part of their efforts to help those who have lost their jobs. Please contact Penquis at 50 North Street, Dover-Foxcroft (564-7116) Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.. They will have a limited number of movie passes to give away each month.
