D-F : Winter Writers Series

February 21, 2009 - TRC

Friends of Thompson Free Library are hosting a Winter Writers Series.

On February 24th at 6:30 in the Thompson Free Library on Main Street in Dover-Foxcroft., join us in meeting Walter Macdougall, author of several delightful Maine books including:“Settling the Maine Wilderness” – a book about Moses Greenleaf, early settler of Williamsburg and noted mapmaker for this region; “The Old Somerset Railroad” a book in which Macdougall surveys the railroad's construction, commerce, employees, and the lives of the people living along the tracks; and “Remembering Dud Dean” a collection of fictional, but true to life,  stories about hunting and fishing in Maine in the 1920’3 and 30’s with the original ‘Maine guide’, Dud Dean, made famous by Field and Stream magazine.

If you have an interest in Maine, history, or Piscataquis County, don’t miss this special evening.

This event is free and open to the public – we’ll have cookies !
