A short love story for Valentine's Day

January 18, 2009 - TRC

Two years ago, at about four months of age, Sampson, was a resident at Penquis Animal Welfare Sanctuary. In a happy conspiracy of my husband with his mom, this love of a kitten was selected by his mom to be my very special Valentine from my husband.

After working his night shift my husband drove from Newport to Milo at 1:30 a.m. to pick up little Sampson. Then on to Bangor (and home) with his precious bundle.

The morning of Valentine’s Day I awoke to find my husband sitting in bed and Sampson atop the covers climbing on my legs. It was a sweet, sweet moment. He was the BEST Valentine’s Day present I have ever gotten !!!

He did well with our move to a new home in Milo and two years later he has grown into a great cat who is the dearest pet and a treasured member of our family.
