Three Rivers Kiwanis Auction

April 21, 2008 - TRC

The Three Rivers Kiwanis of Milo and Brownville will be holding their Annual Auction on June 19th and 20th, 2008. The generosity of area donors and bidders have made this a successful event for several years and we hope to continue on this track even as other changes occur. The Food Wagon will be open. There will be a fifty-fifty raffle. Your friends will be there too !!!

The auction is the Kiwanis major annual fund raising event. Proceeds from this one event provide a significant amount of the money that pays for the twenty one (21) programs sponsored for area children (including "Secret Santa", Key Club, the joint literacy programs with the Milo Library) and senior citizens (for whom we do an annual barbecue at multiple sites in the area).

It is always a big help when auctioneers can honestly tell prospective bidders, "It works." In 2008 and in the future Kiwanis needs to sell every white goods item (refrigerators, freezers, stoves, washers, dryers, air conditioners etc.) that is donated. There will be access to an electrical plug-in at the auction tent, so if you can deliver it and show that it works at the time of delivery that would be ideal !!! This is not always possible. If you have a large electrically operated item you are donating, that Kiwanians will be picking up, Kiwanis requests that you have it plugged in and working when we pick it up. To arrange a pick up of a donation please call Bobby Ellison…943-2317 or Joe Zamboni…943-2271.

The cost of disposal of unsold white goods and electronic goods will be a prohibitive expense for Kiwanis from this point on so the co-operation of donors is very much appreciated.

Kiwanis lack storage space which makes it necessary for large items to be picked up only a day or two before the auction, as it is necessary to store them under the auction tent. If anyone has a sizable storage space they are willing for Kiwanis to use for storing auction items, please, contact any of the names in this article or any Kiwanian.

As always, any and all donations of money help greatly. Mail any donations to:
Valerie Robertson, President, Three Rivers Kiwanis, PO Box 81, Milo, ME 04463

The Three Rivers Kiwanis of Milo and Brownville appreciate your kindness, your generosity, and your support in helping Kiwanis serve our area and our people.

See you at the Auction !
