Thank you, Jerry Cole

Dear Citizens of Milo:

The events of recent days have been troubling for our town, to say the least. While I won't comment on the specifics of the issues of the past few months, I'd like to speak on behalf of one member of our Board, Jerry Cole.

I have known Jerry for many years as someone who extends his warmth, humor, and concern to all he meets. I consider him a friend. Jerry has served the citizens of Milo with honesty and energy for over twenty-two years. He has devoted countless hours in a thankless effort to make our town a better place to live. His decision to resign from the Board of Selectmen was one he came to on his own; I respect his reasons, and hope the people of Milo extend him that same respect.

While we might have disagreed with certain issues, it was never, ever personal. As our town works its way through these issues, I ask that those of us who care for our community treat Jerry with the respect he deserves, and embrace the concept that we can disagree without being disagreeable.

I want to publicly thank Jerry for all he's done for the town of Milo; hopefully, others will do the same.

Thank you.

Tony Hamlin
