Brownville - Pleasant River Walk open for the season !June 11, 2007 - TRCThe Pleasant River Walk between Brownville Village and Brownville Junction, a historic trek that covers 3.2 miles (one way), is open for the season. The trail can be started either from Davis Field in Brownville Junction on Davis Street or from behind the community playground on Church Street in Brownville. This is truly a hiking trail and not a path, meaning there is some degree of difficulty to complete this walk. The trail itself is narrow through mostly flat terrain with some tree roots and rocks to negotiate. It offers scenic views of the river with benches along the way. There is a wide variety of flora and fauna in this relatively short hike. More information is available by contacting Terry Knowles, Trail Coordinator at 965-8120 or the Pleasant River Walk web site : http://www.trcmaine.org/riverwalkNOTE - This article reflects the views of the author and not necessarily those of the TRC Alliance Team.
