Grant Workshop for Piscataquis County Non-ProfitsApril 10, 2007 - TRC Hosted by Maine Community Foundation ELLSWORTH—The Maine Community Foundation will host a grant information workshop on Tuesday, April 24, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Penquis Higher Education Center in Dover-Foxcroft. This free workshop is for Piscataquis County nonprofit organizations, including municipalities, public schools, public libraries, churches and federally recognized tribal entities interested in learning more about MaineCF’s grant application process. Foundation staff will introduce the guidelines and application process for the Community Building Program, MaineCF’s largest competitive grant program. This grant program focuses on proposals that build on a community’s assets and resources and support/promote sustainable, healthy community networks. Comprised of a collection of endowed funds including the Piscataquis County Fund, the Community Building Program awards grants in the $500-$7,500 range. The next deadline for applications to the Community Building Program is May 15. A reception will follow the workshop to allow nonprofit representatives to speak informally with colleagues and staff from MaineCF.
