Brownville Elementary School Kindergarten Orientation, Registration and Screening

March 26, 2007 - TRC

Can you believe they'll be going off to Kindergarten !?!

Children who will be 5 years old by October 15, 2007 are eligible to begin Kindergarten this year. Brownville Elementary School wants to welcome your child when the time comes. Both your child and the school will benefit from planning this important piece of your child's education - his or her entrance to the school.

It is very important that you contact the school and pre-register your child. Pre-registration for Brownville Elementary can be done over the phone. The phone number is 965-8184. Ask to speak with Mrs. Witham or Mrs. Melanson. They will be glad to guide you through this simple process.

After April vacation there will be an orientation in the morning on Wednesday, April 25. The bus will come to pick parent and child up for a ride to the school and home again after the orientation. Structured with consideration for both parent and child, orientation has been a nice way to prepare the family for that first day of school.

Appointments also need to be made for Kindergarten registration and screening, which will take place on May 17th and/or 18th.

With these important tasks completed parents, students, and school staff can all enjoy summer vacation knowing the first day of school will go more smoothly and be the best day the student can have.
