Town vs. Town Softball TournamentJune 06, 2005 - MILODear Municipal Official,I am writing to invite you to participate in a town vs. town slow pitch softball Tournament on the weekend of July 23, 2005 at Davis Field in Brownville. If registration levels warrant, we will also play games at Elm Street Field in Milo and can, if needed, extend the tournament into July 24th as well. The rain date will be July 30th.We are sponsoring this event as an opportunity for municipal employees and volunteers to gather, have fun, and enjoy a little friendly competition. It is also a fundraiser, and the profits from the $30 per team registration fee will be split with a portion donated to the winning town and a portion retained with Penquis Valley JMG to fund materials, supplies, and trip expenses for our program in the coming year. More information about Jobs for Maine's Graduates is included for your review. In an effort to ensure safety and keep the friendly spirit of play that we intend, in addition to regular softball rules, we will require the following of all participating towns:* All players must be employees or volunteers of the town during 2004 - 2005;* Each team may include 2 boys and 2 girls from your local high school. They don't have to play organized sports, but they must be high school students;* There must be at least three (3) women on the field at all times;* Six (6) of the players in the line up must be qualifying municipal employees or volunteers at all times;* A town manager, selectman, or council member must be present for each town participating;* The fee is non refundable.Registration information and forms can be found on the Town of Brownville website www.trcmaine.org or you can contact us at (207) 943-7346 ext. 210 and we will mail you a packet for your town.
