Project Canopy hard at work with BrownvilleAugust 07, 2013 - TRCThis is the 'before' picture of the Brownville Town Office - stop by and see the improvement ! Today August 7, 2013, Canopy Grant will be at Whetstone Rest Area, and at the Junction Fire Station. The Canopy Grant yesterday was completed by staff as our part of the grant that we received. Thanks to Lumbra Hardwoods for donating all of the mulch for our project. The Town Office landscape came out great. Sugar Maples, River Clump Birches, Rugosa Roses, Crab apple Trees, Lilac Trees, and Pink and White Spirea shrubs. Whetstone is being planted today with Pink and White Spirea shrubs and Crabapple Trees that flower in the spring and provide crabapples for the wild animals and birds. Brownville Junction Fire House Park will be receiving 6 new trees along the railroad fence. These will be Service Berry Trees that are rapid growth and will have great color in the spring summer and fall. Two varieties will be Princess Diana and Autumn Brilliance. In front along the side walk will be Pink and White spirea shrubs that will provide bright color. Eventually the park will have a lawn and picnic tables, but for now, I have to get that part donated to the town also.NOTE - This article reflects the views of the author and not necessarily those of the TRC Alliance Team.
